Last March, photographer Reuben Krabbe realized a dream. He had a vision of traveling to the Arctic Circle to nab a ski photograph during a full solar eclipse—meeting that goal is captured in “Eclipse,” the award-winning film released today.

I was a teenager the first time that ‘Photographer’ was the answer to that question. Between high school and a photography career I grew my craft at photography school, gained some business education, lived in a van, worked bad jobs, and now find myself in Squamish BC. We sent Reuben Krabbe a box with some new Vans UltraRange shoes, a list of GPS coordinates, and a plane ticket.

But, photographer Reuben Krabbe saw the eclipse as a once in a lifetime opportunity to capture an image so rare, so elusive, that many thought it was impossible: In March of 2015, Krabbe and a team of skiers, guides, and camera crew set out to Svalbard in the high Arctic.
